From atop Fort Mackinac, near the Michigan Governor's summer mansion, is an impressive view of the harbor with the high-speed ferries shuttling between the island and the mainland. Since there are wildfires in the Boundary Waters
along the Minnesota-Canada border, and since the Thunder Bay, Ontario excursion would make us late for our rendez-vous in Bemidji with Renee's mom tomorrow afternoon, we're shifting our plans (yet again!) to head straight west along Michigan's Upper Peninsula toward Duluth, MN. We'll stop tonight somewhere near Marquette, MI, near the Wisconsin border.
