Smugglers' Notch - a narrow pass through the Green Mountains that was part of the Underground Railroad in the mid-19th cent., and a passage for liquor smugglers during Prohibition.  The kids (including the big kid on top of the rock) enjoyed climbing over the boulders.  It's said that years ago a large, house-sized boulder landed on the roadway; since it was too big to move, the road now curves around it (70kB .jpg).
